[Satellite 6.2] /var/log/messages is filled with 'invalid context system_u:object_r:puppet_etc_t:s0'

Issue

  • /var/log/messages log file is flooded by following error messages, suggesting that something is wrong with selinux policies:
Feb 20 03:32:38 satellite01 puppet-master[24489]: /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts:  invalid context system_u:object_r:puppet_etc_t:s0
Feb 20 03:32:38 satellite01 puppet-master[24489]: /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts:  invalid context system_u:object_r:puppet_etc_t:s0
Feb 20 03:32:38 satellite01 puppet-master[24489]: /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts:  invalid context system_u:object_r:puppet_etc_t:s0
  • despite of this error messages, everything looks fine and Satellite is running without any issues
