standlone.conf is silently overwritten when upgrading JBoss EAP by yum update

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I setup EAP 6 by using rpm installtion as described in the installation guide. Then, /usr/share/jbossas/bin/standalone.conf is silently overwritten when I execute yum update to upgrading EAP 6.

  • I setup EAP 7 by using rpm installtion as described in the installation guide. Then, /opt/rh/eap7/root/usr/share/wildfly/bin/standalone.conf is silently overwritten when I execute yum update to upgrading EAP 7.

  • How can I avoid this overwritten issue? Where should I store Java VM option (JAVA_OPTS) for JBoss EAP rpm installation?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x
    • 7.x
  • rpm installation
