Upgrade to the latest logging image in Openshift
Issue
A new version of the Aggregated Logging images has been released and in the latest Errata the mentioned version is v3.4.1.12-3. For the update, one of the following attempts have been made:
- Try to update the deployer template IMAGE_VERSION variable and then run the upgrade
- description: Specify version for logging components; e.g. for "registry.access.redhat.com/openshift3/logging-deployer:3.4.0",
set version "3.4.0"
name: IMAGE_VERSION
value: 3.4.1.12-3
$ oc new-app logging-deployer-template -p MODE=upgrade
- Provide the version directly to the IMAGE_VERSION parameter
$ oc new-app logging-deployer-template -p MODE=upgrade -p IMAGE_VERSION=3.4.1.12-3
In both cases the following error is shown:
logging-es-3a1p46rt-4-p781x 0/1 ImagePullBackOff 0 26m
logging-es-hnwl0mt2-4-zrofv 0/1 ImagePullBackOff 0 26m
logging-es-l28pot6e-4-cae5j 0/1 ImagePullBackOff 0 26m
logging-es-yd5rc0ad-7-yq3hc 0/1 ImagePullBackOff 0 26m
Error from server: container "elasticsearch" in pod "logging-es-hnwl0mt2-4-zrofv" is waiting to start: trying and failing to pull image
Environment
- Openshift 3.3 and 3.4 with the aggregated logging installed
Note Upgrades to 3.5 and later use ansible playbooks instead of the deployer pod
