[RHEL] Network won't come up and client unable to get IPv6 address when using DHCP6

Issue

When your system is configured to obtain a IPv6 IP address through DHCP:

  • System unable to get IPv6 address using DHCP;
  • System hangs at screen "Bringing up interface :
  • Command # service network restart or ifup <interface> takes forever and only stops upon ^C

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
