How to prevent the system from booting with debugging enabled

Issue

  • After upgrading to RHEL-7.3, the system boots with debugging enabled
  • In Grub, the entry Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation (3.10.0-514.el7.x86_64) 7.3 (Maipo) with debugging is selected

  • /boot/grub2/grubenv contains the following content:

    # GRUB Environment Block
saved_entry=Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation (3.10.0-514.el7.x86_64) 7.3 (Maipo) with debugging

...
