"db-control extend" will not properly create more than 100 dbf files

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • db-control extend will not properly create more than 100 dbf files

  • if tables such as DATA_TBS are already using 100 .dbf files in /rhnsat/data/rhnsat, the db-control extend command will always try to make data_100.dbf instead of data_101.dbf

Environment

  • Red Hat Network Satellite with embedded Oracle database, version 5.3 or earlier
