Filesystem space not recovered after removing files when using Symantec DCSS on RHEL

Issue

  • Root file system growing and using up 100% of space.
    Disk usage observed with du does not match df.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7
  • Kernel 2.6.32-642.6.2.el6.x86_64
  • Symantec Data Center Security Server SYMCsdcss-6.6.0-772.x86_64
  • Ext4 filesystem, other filesystems are also likely to be effected.
