JBoss ON fails to create resource navigation tree due to globally uncaught exception: ResourceType_singleton is null or not an object

Issue

  • Globally uncaught exception

  • Receive the below exception after we imported 2 new JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6 servers into inventory.

    Message  : Globally uncaught exception 
Severity : Error  
Time     : Thursday, January 10, 2013 11:31:37 AM UTC-7 
Detail   : com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException:    (TypeError): 'org_rhq_core_domain_resource_ResourceType_singleton' is null or not an object number: -2146823281
           description: 'org_rhq_core_domain_resource_ResourceType_singleton' is null or not an object

  • Resource with deleted resource type prevents navigation tree from being rendered

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.1.1
  • One or more resources in inventory (NEW or COMMITTED state) associated with a resource type that has been deleted
    • This most commonly would be a result of deleting or purging an agent plug-in
