Solution Verified - Updated -

  • systemd.mountd does not always mount activated VGs in /etc/fstab.
  • The LVM volumes mounts at the boot time according to /etc/fstab. After boot, the LVM volumes are unmounted and deactivated for backup. After backup, it is expected that all LVM volumes are mounted automatically by systemd according to /etc/fstab. But some volumes are not mounted.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • systemd
  • LVM volumes are on SCSI disk device.
  • LVM volumes in /etc/fstab
