bootstrap.py is failing because of missing `/etc/rhsm/facts` directory

Issue

  • We are migrating our systems from Satellite 5 to Satellite 6 and are experiencing and issue when running the bootstrap.py as described in https://access.redhat.com/articles/2280691. When we run the script as mentioned, it fails with the below error:

  File "./bootstrap.py", line 277, in clean_environment
    katellofacts = open('/etc/rhsm/facts/katello.facts', 'w')
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/rhsm/facts/katello.facts'
  • bootstrap.py is failing because of missing /etc/rhsm/facts directory.
