RHEL 7.2 kernels 3.10.0-327.41.* crash while loading 'bna.ko' module during boot process

Issue

  • We are trying to update the system from kernel-3.10.0-327.36.3 to 3.10.0-327.41.3 or later, but upon booting with the new kernel, there is following panic observed while loading bna.ko module:

    bnad_get_strings+0x54/0x690 [bna]

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
  • kernel-3.10.0-327.41.3 and later
  • Ethernet controller: Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. 1860 16Gbps/10Gbps Fabric Adapter
    (Brocade 1860-2p HBA)
