[Satellite 6] The httpd service will not start after RHEL 7.3 upgrade

Issue

  • The httpd service refuses to start after updating the Satellite server to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3

  • The following can be seen when attempting to start the httpd service:

    satellite.example.com httpd[44449]: (98)Address already in use: AH00072: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:443
satellite.example.com systemd[1]: httpd.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
satellite.example.com kill[44478]: kill: cannot find process ""
