Volume attached to running Windows guest becomes offline after reboot.

Issue

  • In an RHOSP environment, if a volume is attached to running Windows guest and configured as a new drive (such as "D:") on the guest, the volume becomes offline after the guest is shutdown (powered off) and then restarted.
  • The volume isn't displayed on Explorer. In "Disk Management" in Computer Management(compmgmt.msc), the drive is displayed as offline with the following message.

    The disk is offline because of policy set by an administrator
