After restarting BRMS 5.3.1 server Businesss Central Server throws "Unknown process ID" error

After restarting BRMS 5.3.1 server, all the BPMN2 processes stops working and launching process(es) through Business Central console doesn't work. The following exception is reported in server log.

ERROR [org.drools.persistence.SingleSessionCommandService] (http-/ Could not commit session: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown process ID: com.sample.Payment.Gateway
  • The /business-central console reports error messages like Invalid XML Document received from Session request when process is launched. In order to solve the issue all the applications from BRMS installation (jboss-brms.war , business-central.war , business-central-server.war etc.) has to be redeployed. What is the root cause of this issue and what is it's solution?
