After Agent shutdown JON Server does not immediately reflect that the Agent and its resources are DOWN

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • JON can take around 20 minutes to detect that the application server (JBoss AS/EAP) has been stopped or started
  • JON interface (UI) takes 10 minutes to detect the fall or shutdown of the agent
  • After an Agent is shutdown or stopped, it and all of its resources continue to show a status of UP
  • An Agent who is shutdown does not get its or its resource's status marked as DOWN until Agent Max Quiet Time Allowed is reached

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (JON) 2.2, 2.3, 2.3.1
  • JON Agent has been shutdown in a normal fashion
  • JON Server property Agent Max Quiet Time Allowed is set to a value equal to or larger than the perceived delay
