The logical drive which does not exist can be added dynamically

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The logical drive which does not exist can be added dynamically on the server equipped with Promise SuperTrak EX4650.
  • When 256 is set to the LUN number and a logical drive that doesn not exist is added,  the sd device is attached.
  • When referring to the partition information of the attached sd device, it was the same as the partition information of the sd device that actually exists.
  • When mounting the attached sd device, the file on the sd device which actually exists can be referred to, and it can be read and written.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 on i386 and x86_64

  • kernel-2.6.18-164.el5
