Loading NAT module with/without rules affects ping behaviour
Issue
- Loading NAT module with/without rules affects ping behaviour.
- The iptables manual page just says "ACCEPT means to let the packet through"
- in general section and I thought the nat table doesn't take effect unless targets like SNAT/DNAT or MASQUERADE are explicitly used.
Environment
- Red hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
-
kernel-2.6.18-128.el5
