FCoE MaxFrameSize is restricted to 1452

Issue

  • FCoE MaxFrameSize is incorrectly restricted to 1452 on RHEL 6.7 kernel-2.6.32-573.18.1.el6
  • FCoE MaxFrameSize is correctly 2112 on earlier kernels like RHEL 6.5 kernel-2.6.32-431.el6

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 (all kernel-2.6.32-642.el6 series)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 (all kernel-2.6.32-573.el6 series)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.6.z (kernel-2.6.32-504.22.1.el6 and later)
  • Intel NIC using ixgbe or other NIC with fcoe-mtu feature (NETIF_F_FCOE_MTU driver flag)
  • Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) storage
