Available HA JON Server incorrectly listed with status of DOWN after temporary network interruption

Issue

  • JON HA Servers incorrectly listed with status of DOWN
  • JON servers listed on Manage JON Servers page (http://localhost:7080/rhq/ha/listServers.xhtml) show mode as DOWN even though they are available
  • After changing JON server mode to NORMAL from the Manage JON Servers page (http://localhost:7080/rhq/ha/listServers.xhtml), within a few minutes, it reverts to DOWN
  • JON server log contains the following error:

    ERROR [TimerImpl] Error invoking ejbTimeout
    

Environment

  • JBoss Operation Network (JON) 2.2
  • Multiple JON servers in a High-Availability (HA) configuration
  • Affected JON server contains the following error in its log file:

    ERROR [TimerImpl] Error invoking ejbTimeout
