Issue

The redhat-release rpm "redhat-release-5Server-5.4.0.3" was deployed on the machine during a yum update. The rpmdb has been updated, but the redhat-release file has not.

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4

Resoultion

Force re-installation of the redhat-release package by downloading the RPM with yumdownloader:

# yum install yum-utils
# yumdownloader redhat-release
# rpm -ivvh --force redhat-release-5Server-5.4.0.3.x86_64.rpm
