nscd returns incorrect values for hostnames from ldap on RHEL
Issue
- On the first nscd query, the IP address comes back in what looks like a IPv6 format (but incorrect). The second query returns a IPv4 address. On the client (and the LDAP server) IPv6 is disabled.
- With nscd off, it works every time
- This is causing some strange behavior, like scripts returning Memory Faults, etc.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4.8, and 5.3
