SCTP performance is low when thousands of associations are connected to one endpoint

Issue

  • When thousands of endpoints connect with same source port to one single destination IP+port the lookup in SCTP kernel module is slow.
  • When running with stock kernel and > 6000 SCTP connections from same source port the ksoftirqd saturates to 100% CPU load.
