Issue

The release notes are missing from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8 installer. This can be observed when you are first presented with a GUI welcome screen during installation. At the bottom left of that screen there is a button titled "Release Notes," clicking on this button takes you to a new screen with a dialog box containing the following message:
