Password change fails with the error : "gkr-pam: couldn't update the 'login' keyring password: no old password was entered"
Issue
- When changing the password for root, the error "gkr-pam: couldn't update the 'login' keyring password: no old password was entered" is seen.
- Password change works but error is logged.
- Password change does not work when it is automated using a script
- Sometimes password change itself does not work even when "passwd" command is issues manually.
