@JsonIgnore annotation has no effect, on Fuse 6.2.1 on EAP

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

The annotation @JsonIgnore can be applied to an attribute or get method of a Java class, and prevents JSON marshallers such as Jackson attempting to serialize the attribute. This annotation is sometimes necessary, if the data is not serializable, or if attempting to serialize it would lead to circular references.

When an application is deployed on EAP 6.2.1 with the Fuse module, @JsonIgnore has no effect. The application will build and deploy, but the annotation is ignored.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Fuse
    • 6.2.1
  • Red Hat JBoss EAP
    • 6.x
