Printing is not formatted properly on RAW print queues

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have a problem with one special printer on SAP. The printed paper does not have some fields and an image. Could you help us so we can focus where problem.
  • We changed the cups configuration to raw for the printer and we were able to print successfully. We still have problems with the font size, changing it from 10 cpi to 12 cpi.
  • When we try to print, the printer prints an error page indicating that it needs more memory. We are printing PDF documents directly to the printer using "raw" print queues.
  • Our ERP system is using codepage CP949 for Korean characters. When printing to a printer configured as a "raw" printer in CUPS, Korean characters prints symbols instead.
  • Print jobs are sent to a printer that is printing a lot of extra blank pages. All print queues are "raw" with no print drivers installed.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), all versions
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS), all versions
  • "Raw" print queue
