Can JBoss EAP 4.2 and 4.3 be upgraded to support EJB 3.0 JPA?
Environment
- JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
- 4.2
- 4.3
Issue
- We are trying to utilize the EJB3 JPA features from Hibernate 3.4. But our installed JBoss is 4.3 CP04, which comes with older version of Hibernate, is it supported if we swap in new versions of below jar files? If not, what alternatives we have?
hibernate-core-3.3.1.jar hibernate-commons-annotations-3.1.0.GA.jar hibernate-annotations-3.4.0.GA.jar hibernate-entitymanager.jar (Implementation-Version: 3.4.0.GA) slf4j-api-1.5.6.jar slf4j-log4j12-1.5.6.jar
Resolution
Upgrading jars is not supported. The alternative would be to upgrade to EAP 5.0, which includes the following versions of Hibernate and slf4j in the GA release:
<version.org.hibernate.annotations>3.4.0.GA</version.org.hibernate.annotations>
<version.org.hibernate.commons.annotations>3.1.0.GA</version.org.hibernate.commons.annotations>
<version.org.hibernate.ejb3.persistence>1.0.2.GA</version.org.hibernate.ejb3.persistence>
<version.org.hibernate.entity.manager>3.4.0.GA</version.org.hibernate.entity.manager>
<version.org.hibernate.validator>3.1.0.GA</version.org.hibernate.validator>
<version.org.hibernate>3.3.2.GA</version.org.hibernate>
...
<version.org.slf4j>1.5.8</version.org.slf4j>
