Novell ZENworks Linux Management Imaging Agent adding IP and hostname to an area on the disk, leading to corruption of partition table on EFI boot System

Issue

  • System faces kernel panic after rebooting
  • Not able to enter rescue mode
  • fdisk output from rescue shell shows one GPT partition available, but no other partition detected.
  • Running parted command in rescue command detects all the right partitions. Thereafter rebooting system comes up normal.
