How to force anaconda to decide the disk names as per our requirements?

Issue

  • Need to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 on a machine using USB drive booting.
  • There are two internal disks into the system, which are detecting as /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb and the USB disk is detecting as /dev/sda
  • The kickstart file is present into the USB drive only, and according to the kickstart file, its required to have the internal disk names as /dev/sda and /dev/sdb and USB as /dev/sdc
  • How can I force the anaconda to assign disk names according to my requirements?

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • anaconda
  • Kickstart installation through USB drive.
