How to delete an Ironic node which is error state ?

Issue

  • Looking for some guidance on how to delete an errored Ironic instance from nova database.
  • I have tried nova reset-state before deleting, but that does not work. Instance ends up in error status with power state of NOSTATE.
  • Any better way of deleting an Ironic instance completely.
Note these are baremetal instances that are failing to deploy while testing Ironic in the overcloud.

  • Red Hat Openstack Platform 8
