RHEL: system crashes during "ip link" command after allocation failure in cnic module

Issue

  • A gluster node suddenly rebooted itself. We found that kernel panic occurred.
  • We tried to get the network working again by executing "ip link down"/"ip link up"/"ip link down" and the system crashed.
  • kernel BUG at drivers/pci/msi.c:411!

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • kernel 3.10.0-229.14.1.el7
    • bnx2
      • cnic (ISCSI offloading
  • Gluster storage
