Change the font or font size when printing text using the 'lp' or 'lpr' commands in RHEL

Issue

  • Is there a way to change either the default font or the default font weight for a printer when printing a plain ASCII text?
  • How to change the default font or font size when printing plain ASCII text using lp command?
  • Is it possible to change printer fonts? I am able to change the CPI and LPI parameters via the lpoptions command, but this causes distortions with the font.
  • I need to change font size from one print queue to the next.
  • I am sending prints from a Linux Server to a printer connected to a Windows PC. However I want to print in different fonts and pitch. How can this be done?
