Change the font or font size when printing text using the 'lp' or 'lpr' commands in RHEL
Issue
- Is there a way to change either the default font or the default font weight for a printer when printing a plain ASCII text?
- How to change the default font or font size when printing plain ASCII text using lp command?
- Is it possible to change printer fonts? I am able to change the CPI and LPI parameters via the
lpoptionscommand, but this causes distortions with the font. - I need to change font size from one print queue to the next.
- I am sending prints from a Linux Server to a printer connected to a Windows PC. However I want to print in different fonts and pitch. How can this be done?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 and 7
- Common Unix Printing System (CUPS)
