rhevm-setup update is failing as it needs python 2.7

Issue

  • YUM says that Python 2.7 is needed when i only have 2.6.6.
  • While updating the rhevm-setup it is failing with the below error:
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: ovirt-setup-lib-1.0.1-1.el7ev.noarch (rhel-7-server-rhevh-rpms)
           Requires: python(abi) = 2.7
           Installed: python-2.6.6-64.el6.x86_64 (@rhel-6-server-rpms)
               python(abi) = 2.6

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6.7
  • RHEV-H 7 repository
