No physical address for xxx, dropping message warning in JBoss EAP and JDG 6

Issue

  • We are receiving the following WARNING messages when booting JBoss EAP 6 cluster nodes with -b 0.0.0.0 option.
15:08:16,437 WARNING [org.jgroups.protocols.UDP] (OOB-8,null) null: no physical address for <UUID>, dropping message
15:09:10,589 WARNING [org.jgroups.protocols.pbcast.NAKACK] (OOB-20,null) nodename/web: dropped message 3 from <UUID> (sender not in table [nodename/web]), view=[nodename/web|0] [nodename/web]
  • Configured TCP based cluster and got no physical address warnings
WARN  [org.jgroups.protocols.TCP] (Timer-3,shared=tcp) null: no physical address for <UUID>, dropping message
  • Got intermittent no physical address warnings on cluster node join, leave or failure
