When starting an nfsserver resource in RHEL 7 HA Cluster, it fails with "nfsserver(nfs_daemon): ERROR: Failed to start nfs-idmapd"

Issue

When attempting to start an NFS Server resource it fails to start with the error:

nfsserver(nfs_daemon): ERROR: Failed to start nfs-idmapd

Debug output for nfs-idmapd shows:

rpc.idmapd[]: main: open(/var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs//nfs): No such file or directory

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 w/ High Availability or Resilient Storage
  • Pacemaker
  • resource-agents-3.9.5-54.el7_2.6.x86_64 or later
