  • The following errors appear in /var/log/messages:

    kernel: nfsd: too many open TCP sockets, consider increasing the number of nfsd threads
  • rpcnfsdcount
  • nfsd thread count / nfs thread count

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux including:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • NFS server
