Issue

  • OSD daemons often fail on boot due to unmounted OSD and gives error "ERROR: unable to open OSD superblock on /var/lib/ceph/osd, Why ?
  • ceph-disk: duplicate osd mount points and umount fails to unmount temporary mount
 umount /var/lib/ceph/tmp/mnt.EFQ84y
 umount: /var/lib/ceph/tmp/mnt.EFQ84y: mountpoint not found

Environment

  • Upstream Hammer (0.94.3)
  • ceph-0.94.3-0.el7.x86_64
