How can I have NTP time sync in the order of milliseconds?
Issue
- How to have an appreciable level of accuracy to the order of milli seconds between the ntp clients syncing from the same ntp source?
- What is an ideal way to compare the time difference between two ntp clients?
- To what extent (if at all) can we have an accuracy on the ntp clients by tuning some specific parameters on the VM?
- If I have offset and jitter value exactly the same on a given pair of NTP clients (VM) for a given sys_peer then can we infer that they will be syncing to the order of mill seconds consistently?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- NTP
