Why deploying servers from satellite 6 does not align to the content view specified?
Issue
- Trying to have a host bound to a Red Hat 6.6 minor version.
-
The process followed is as per documentation. Created a
content viewandlife cycleenvironment with 2 repos therhel 6.6 server repoand therhel 6 satellite 6.1repo -
When created the server in the satellite system, chose the
life cycleenvironment andcontentthat matches with the created one. When then deployed the server, the new server get thelibraryenvironment and thedefault content view.
The server then because of the provisioning template becomes a 6.7 release instead of the intended 6.6 -
Tried doing a manual install and registration then can change the
environment/content viewfrom the content host menu.
It then works as intended.
Environment
- Red Hat Satellite 6.1
