Why deploying servers from satellite 6 does not align to the content view specified?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Trying to have a host bound to a Red Hat 6.6 minor version.
  • The process followed is as per documentation. Created a content view and life cycle environment with 2 repos the rhel 6.6 server repo and the rhel 6 satellite 6.1 repo

  • When created the server in the satellite system, chose the life cycle environment and content that matches with the created one. When then deployed the server, the new server get the library environment and the default content view.
The server then because of the provisioning template becomes a 6.7 release instead of the intended 6.6

  • Tried doing a manual install and registration then can change the environment/content view from the content host menu.
    It then works as intended.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.1
