system-config-cluster corrupts IP address on Red Hat Enterprize Linux 5.4

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • system-config-cluster corrupts IP address.

  • When editing the cluster software, the cluster software had apparently written a correct IP address for a private resource. But upon saving the trailing digit of the IP address had been removed and a wrong subnet was set.

  • Created IP as a resource but in my config file it shows two different IPs, for Resource it is showing xxx.xxx.78.32 and for monitor link it is showing xxx.xxx.78.3.

  • On exiting the system-config-cluster GUI for the first time, the following traceback appeared.

          File "/usr/share/system-config-cluster/MgmtTab.py", line 235, in onTimer
          self.prep_service_tree()
          File "/usr/share/system-config-cluster/MgmtTab.py", line 209, in prep_service_tree
          treemodel.clear() AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'clear'

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprize Linux 5.4
  • Red Hat Cluster Suite 5
    • system-config-cluster-1.0.57-1.5 and earlier
