RFE: Sat6 Storage Placement and Monitoring
Issue
- On satellite 6, everything is in /var - a system directory. End user should be able to state where
katelloshould look to and use for storage. Filling up/varbrakes the OS. -
Discussion: End user will have a better idea of their infrastructure. It might make more sense for them to put their repositories on a slower or bigger
nfsmount than used for the OS. This is a very big solution.
Symlinks away are a hack begging to be broken during an update.
Further, sincekatellois such a large consumer storage resources, it would be good to have a view in the app (cli & gui) of how much key parts ofkatellois consuming. -
RFE request :-
1. During install, have switches to set a different base directory.
2. In the gui, undermonitoradd, storagewhere the end user can see what part of the solution is consuming the most space to help administrator to provide timely and sufficient resources.
