Multiple interfaces with IP addresses in the same subnet to a single switch cause only a single link to be used

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When multiple Ethernet cards are configured to participate within the same subnet, and connected to the same switch, this results in only one of the network interfaces being actively used for that subnet. Checking the switches ARP table shows that the MAC address for the first interface is the next hop for all four IP addresses.
