[RHEV] How do I cause a hanging Linux VM to produce a core dump?

Issue

If a VM hangs, possibly responding to ICMP requests but with no accessible console, how can I make the VM crash manually? I need a core file to be analyzed by Red Hat Support in order to determine why the VM was hanging.
