Upload of license in JON fails with license invalid message

Upload of the license file fails with message "License not updated, you must supply a valid JBoss Operations Network License File."

We have procured a evaluation license but are having problems installing it.
- When I try to install the license it complains that "License not updated, you must supply a valid JBoss Operations Network License File."

- JBoss Operations Network (JON) 2.3, 2.3.1
