Cluster service containing clusterfs does not relocate after losing access to storage in RHEL

Issue

  • Cluster service containing clusterfs resource does not relocate as desired after file system withdrawl
  • In testing, when both HBAs are disconnected (simulation of hardware failure) the cluster service fails when a GFS/GFS2 withdrawl occurs and cannot be relocated.
  • rgmanager marks cluster service as FAILED when the LUN became unavailable
        clurgmgrd[pid]: <err> /path/to/mount is not a directory

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the Resilient Storage Add On
  • Red Hat Cluster Suite (RHCS) 4
  • Cluster service containing a clusterfs resource for a GFS or GFS2 file system
