How to obtain user principal from JSF managed bean?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When WebAuthentication is used to perform authentication, the request.getUserPrincipal() returns the right principal object in the login bean. However in the other session scoped managed beans the request.getUserPrincipal() returns null. How can I obtain the user principal object in JSF managed bean?
