About a parameter "lpfc_fcf_failover_policy" added in RHEL6.3

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We know Emulex lpfc's parameter "lpfc_fcf_failover_policy" has been added in RHEL6.3. We're looking into a patch (*1) that enables the parameter, but are not sure about what it is yet. So, we have the following 2 questions about it.
    *1: scsi-lpfc-Added-fcf-priority-record-selection-for-fcf-failover.patch
    https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/sources/source_rpms/kernel-2.6.32-279.el6/patches/scsi-lpfc-Added-fcf-priority-record-selection-for-fcf-failover.patch

    1. How does the parameter work?
As far as we see "modinfo lpfc", 1 or 2 can be set to the parameter, but
we don't know how it exactly works respectively.

      lpfc_fcf_failover_policy:FCF Fast failover=1 Priority failover=2 (uint)

    2. How does the parameter affect other parameters?
We in advance want to know if it does.
