Java garbage collection is occuring every minute or hour on JBoss EAP
Issue
- I'm using JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) and finding that the Garbage Collection(GC) is taking place every minute. Why is this?
- We are experiencing a full GC every hour across all of our applications running on JBoss.
- Why is FULL GC being triggered in spite of enough space available in the JVM. It is is not behaving as expected on the Linux OS.

- JBoss EAP
- OpenJDK
- Sun JDK
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
