multipathd: Cannot open bindings file [/etc/multipath_bindings] : Too many open files

Issue

  • After assigning new LUNs to a system the following message appears:
multipathd: Cannot open bindings file [/etc/multipath_bindings] : Too many open files
multipathd: sdapx: add path (uevent)
multipathd: sdapx: failed to store path info
multipathd: uevent trigger error
multipathd: dm-194: add map (uevent)
multipathd: Cannot open bindings file [/etc/multipath_bindings] : Too many open files
multipathd: dm-195: add map (uevent)
multipathd: Cannot open bindings file [/etc/multipath_bindings] : Too many open files
multipathd: dm-196: add map (uevent)
multipathd: mpath132: remove dead map
multipathd: mpath132: stop event checker thread
  • Currently nearly 1024 pathes are used on the system.
