How do I change the rate-limiting and ownership settings applicable to POSIX locking with GFS and GFS2 file systems in a RHEL Resilient Storage cluster?
Issue
- The rate at which POSIX locks are granted seems to be limited in my cluster. How can I change that rate limit?
- lock requests with
fcntl
are slow - If I change
plock_rate_limit
orplock_ownership
settings in my cluster, do I need to restart the daemons or just propagate the new configuration?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5, 6, 7, 8 with the Resilient Storage Add On
- GFS or GFS2
