How do I change the rate-limiting and ownership settings applicable to POSIX locking with GFS and GFS2 file systems in a RHEL Resilient Storage cluster?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • The rate at which POSIX locks are granted seems to be limited in my cluster. How can I change that rate limit?
  • lock requests with fcntl are slow
  • If I change plock_rate_limit or plock_ownership settings in my cluster, do I need to restart the daemons or just propagate the new configuration?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5, 6, 7, 8 with the Resilient Storage Add On
  • GFS or GFS2
